For over two decades, Blumont Analytics has been helping meduim to large companies transform VAT data into profit. Our proprietary techniques, combined with over 20 years proven expertise, uncovers hidden opportunities that enable businesses to recover lost VAT, optimize cash flow, and improve financial processes.
VAT is complex, and over-reliance on automated software systems can lead to errors that, if repeated over time, result in significant VAT Leakage. Our VAT Recovery review ensures that companies are not loosing profits due to overpaying of VAT or not claiming VAT benefits.
As a business owner or finance lead when did you last review your VAT ?.
VAT Review for a Global Chemicals and Energy Group - Savings R100m/ €5m/ £4.3m
You can claim a refund of VAT already paid to Revenue. Many businesses have utilised this relief as debts have become increasingly difficult to collect.
Should you be reclaiming more VAT? There are many ways to calculate the appropriate percentage recovery (not just turnover basis), and these should be examined.
Care must be taken when dealing with cross-border transactions. In many cases, VAT is not chargeable as the invoice will be zero-rated. However, this treatment generally requires that certain conditions be satisfied.

Annual statutory audits of accounts are designed to test the accuracy of the systems in place. For example, if a business sells 100 widgets and charges its customers €100 each, the audit should verify that €10,000 plus VAT was lodged to the bank, and the VAT control account should show that the correct VAT amount was paid to Revenue. However, the annual audit will not tell if the correct rate of VAT was charged (which could depend on the type of product sold or indeed the location of the customer, etc) or even if VAT was due in the first place.
Even the best companies have blind spots. Change in staff, working from home, new accounting software, and change in legislation all impact VAT. We check all your systems are as robust as you need them to be.
Large companies are typically resistant to change. Could this be happening in your company?
Many companies hesitate as they focus on the time invested in the review. However, we do all the heavy lifting and as a client recently said
‘It was as simple as sending over some spreadsheets’
Our service is about loss–avoidance and optimisation, not criticism.
